"Karan?" Arna asked, disappointment clearly visible on her face after hearing his words to Sahas.
"You don't have to be afraid of him, okay?" she said softly. Then she turned to Sahas, her eyes blazing with anger.
"Listen, Mister. I don't care about your stupid contract, and I'm not interested in marrying you. I love Karan, and I'm going to marry him. Do whatever you want."
"Go ahead. Marry him. The second those vows are complete, I'll make sure your father doesn't live to see another sunrise," Sahas said in a chillingly calm voice.
"You won't do anything like that!" Arna shouted.
"Go on, take the wedding vows with the man you love. The moment you're done, I'll count to three... and all six bullets will be in your father's head. If your father's life means anything to you, stop being stubborn and marry me."
"Arna... whatever we had before, just forget it. Please don't drag me into this. I don't want to marry you," Karan said.
"So this was your love?" Arna asked, her voice trembling. "Even after loving you with all my heart... after being so loyal to you... this is how you treat me? I stood by you through every downfall, every success, every hardship. I was ready to give my life for you... and you're backing away from marriage just to save yourself?"
"I never asked you to give your life for me," Karan replied coldly. "I never wanted your sacrifices. You're the one who always tries to act like some great heroine. But I'm not like that. I care about my own life more than anything. I never promised I'd die for you. So please... stop saying all this and let me go."
Hearing those words, Arna felt her heart shatter. She couldn't believe the man she loved could say something so heartless. Tears welled up in her eyes as she struggled to hold them back.
"I wanted to save both you and my father. I dreamed of spending the rest of my life with the two people I loved the most. But now that I've seen your true face... I don't care about you anymore," Arna said, tears streaming down her cheeks, her voice calm but filled with pain.
"Today, in this very mandap, in front of everyone present here... I will marry Sahas Kashyap."
"My daughter... once again you're sacrificing your life for your father," her father said, his voice heavy with guilt. "You're willing to destroy your own future just to save mine. But I've lived enough. Even if I die now, I'll have no regrets."
"You have to stay alive, Dad," Arna replied angrily. "You deserve to live long enough to see how your selfishness has ruined your daughter's life."
"Enough. Everyone has said what they wanted to say," Sahas interrupted with a satisfied smile. "Let's begin the wedding rituals. I can't wait any longer. I have to take my wife home."
"I'm marrying you," Arna said, looking straight into his eyes. "But remember one thing. Marrying me won't bring happiness into your lifeβit will bring destruction. One day, you'll be the one placing divorce papers in my hands."
As Arna took the seven vows with Sahas, tears silently rolled down her cheeks. Every step around the sacred fire felt like a dagger piercing her heart.
Even now, she kept hoping... just once... Karan would stand up for her, stop the wedding, fight for their love.
But he never did.
Mr. Kapoor also stood there silently, watching the marriage take place. Seven years ago, he had already lost all his power. Today, he had nothing left to protect his daughter.
"And with these sacred vows, you are now husband and wife," the priest announced.
"Congratulations, Mrs. Kashyap," Sahas said with a satisfied smile.
"Congratulations, Mr. Kashyap. From today, your life's destruction begins," Arna replied coldly.
"Guards, bring the car. We're leaving immediately," Sahas ordered.
He then looked at Mr. Kapoor before turning to Arna.
"If you want to meet your father, you can. Because after today... you won't be able to meet anyone ever again."
"I don't want to meet anyone. Let's leave this place," Arna said angrily.
"As you wish," Sahas replied.

A few hours later...
Arna and Sahas arrived at the Kashyap Mansion. Several maids welcomed them at the entrance.
"Grandma, please show Arna to my bedroom," Sahas said to the oldest maid.
"Yes, beta," the elderly woman replied before turning to Arna. "Come with me, child."
Arna silently followed her. The old lady showed her the room and quietly walked away without saying another word.
As Arna stepped inside, she froze.
The entire bedroom was beautifully decorated.
Her mind immediately began racing with terrifying thoughts.
What is he going to do to me now?
With trembling hands, she slowly walked toward the bed.
Just then, the door opened.
Sahas entered the room.
Her heartbeat became erratic, and cold sweat formed on her forehead.
"You don't need to be afraid of me, baby girl. Without your permission, I won't even touch you," Sahas said calmly.
"Huh..." She let out a sarcastic laugh. "Without my permission? You forced me into this marriage, and now you're saying that? Those lines don't suit you, Mr. Kashyap."
"Shut your mouth," he said irritably.
"Why? Does the truth bother you now?" she asked fearlessly.
"One more word..." his voice turned dangerously cold, "...and I'll make you strip, baby girl."
Where have I trapped myself...? Arna whispered to herself under her breath.
